Many books and articles have been written about these very special fish and the majority of them would have you believe that the only time to catch them is at night. Many moons ago I was given the following advice on Sea Trout fishing, “wait till it goes dark and then wait another half hour just to make sure”. Very good advice indeed for fishing at night. Hooking these silver missiles in the pitch black is an unbelievable buzz, but If you target these fish and use the right technique during day light hours, you might just end up in a scrap with a fish like this!
